Headed to a tradeshow? Not sure how you’re going to get people to actually talk to you? Here are a few things to consider to make your tradeshow successful, and to get sales without feeling salesy.

Here are the main points I cover in the video below:

  1. How can I create engagement and get people to actually stop to talk with me? Create an “easy yes” to make engaging easier. Raffles and giveaways are a great way to start the conversation. Ask “Have you signed up yet?” instead of “Do you want X?”

  2. What do I say?! Not jumping into the pitch but instead asking about them can be a useful tactic. Having a few questions in your back pocket can be really helpful in creating conversation.

  3. How can I create the first step? Playing the long game sometimes doesn’t feel like you’re getting that instant ROI, but nurturing those relationships over the next few weeks or months is incredibly valuable, too.

  4. How can I create urgency? Show specials and incentives can be really powerful to walking away with some new sales.

  5. What’s my energy like? Pay attention to the energy you’re bringing to the booth. Desperation and pressure don’t sell. Curiosity is the cure-all in my book.
